Adelaide skipper Taylor Walker says Bryce Gibbs has taken a pay cut to join the Crows, suggesting there's no comparison with Jake Lever.

Walker was asked on Triple M’s Dead Set Legends about the similarities between Gibbs and Lever, both of whom were involved in trades Adelaide made.

Lever departed to return home to Victoria - which Walker previously criticised as “chasing money over success” - but was then joined by Gibbs, who left Carlton to return to South Australia.

Walker dispelled suggestions there was any similarity, confirming Gibbs, unlike Lever, had taken a pay cut to join his new club.

“I thought this might have come up!” Tex told Triple M.

“My response is that Bryce Gibbs has come back to Adelaide and he’s taken a pay cut to come back and spend time with family.

“He’s taken a pay cut, so that's pretty simple."

He talked up Gibbs as a character, as well as former North Melbourne midfielder Sam Gibson, who too joined the Crows.

“Sam Gibson and Bryce Gibbs, they don’t only bring talent, they bring hard work, leadership and great characters. So that’s what we like to get at our football club,” he said.

“I rate people with leadership and character."
