The MRP will be replaced by a single Match Review Officer.

The role will be filled by Collingwood premiership player and broadcaster Michael Christian.

From next year, charges from Thursday and Friday night games will be laid within 24 hours.

One match discounts on offer for early pleas have been removed, while fines for low-level offences will be raised.

Clubs challenging bans will now risk a $10,000 fine rather than an extra match.
