The deliberate rushed behind rule has caused controversy in the Richmond v Essendon Dreamtime At The G game.

Richmond youngster Jayden Short chased down a long shot from James Stewart that pulled up in the goal square, and instead of picking it up he decided to tap the ball through.

However Bombers goal sneak Josh Green had given up the chase and the umpire decided Short wasn’t under enough pressure and gave a free kick in the goal square.

Green converted easily.
