The Footy Show Ratings Were Not Great Last Night

Craig Hutchison made his debut as the host of The Footy Show last night, but viewers didn't tune in like Channel Nine would have hoped.

The figures, as released by TV Tonight, show that last night's season opener received an audience of 199,000 in Melbourne.

As a comparison, last year's debut of Rebecca Maddern received 425,000 viewers in Melbourne.

The figures didn't improve around the country last night, either, with Adelaide and Perth recording 39,000 and 35,000 respectively.

In Perth, yesterday morning's episode of Peppa Pig on ABC2 received more viewers than The Footy Show.
