West Coast Eagles assistant coach Dean Cox has given an update on full-forward Josh Kennedy's calf injury.

It was speculated that Kennedy would be available for the Eagles clash with Geelong tonight, but he was not selected.

Mark Stevens questioned Cox on Kennedy's situation on Triple M's pre-game coverage of West Coast/Geelong.

“It doesn’t seem that Kennedy was that close in the end Dean, is there a chance he misses another week or two?” Stevens asked Cox.

Cox claimed that West Coast are being conservative with the dual Coleman Medallist.

“He just hasn’t done enough training, so for him as well its a big picture thing,” said Cox.

“So for him it might be he plays next week or he just misses out."

The Triple M panel were in agreement that it seems like Kennedy will be at least another week off.

"It looks like Josh Kennedy will miss another one boy…with this calf,” Stevens said.

“I don’t think they will rush him at all. Maybe one, maybe two more (weeks).”

Without Kennedy spearheading their forward line, West Coast lost their third game in a row to Gold Coast last time they played.
