NAB’s footy ads are always grouse, and the new ad they’ve dropped for the AFLW today is no exception.
It imagines the AFLW stars of today playing in older eras of footy, with Daisy Pearce streaming through the middle and kicking goals in black and white, Darcy Vescio balking defenders and booting torps in the 70s, and Katie Brennan taking hangers and kicking snags in the 80s.
It ends with footage of Sabrina Frederick-Traub sharking a ball and snapping a goal against Melbourne.
NAB have done a brilliant job with making the ad look era-appropriate, with Pearce’s bob, Vescio’s shag (and high shorts) and Brennan’s outstanding perm all perfect.
They also managed to get soundalikes for the commentators at the time, and straight up used Sandy Roberts for Brennan’s part.
