The 2018 AFL fixture was released in full on Tuesday morning.

Already we've got stuck in and found 10 pretty interesting quirks from the season ahead.

1. Adelaide's home stretch

The Crows get four games in a row without leaving Adelaide next season: they play Gold Coast and Carlton at home in rounds six and seven, followed by an away showdown against Port Adelaide, backed up by a home game against the Bulldogs the week after.

2. But not Gold Coast's

We knew the Suns couldn't play at Metricon Stadium early in the season due to the Commonwealth Games, but they don't actually feature there until after their round 10 bye. Their first four home games are in Cairns, Perth, Brisbane and then Shanghai

3. Don't bring sunscreen

News that could make Tom Lynch happy is the Crows only feature in two day games next season - in Alice Springs and Perth - with five twilight and 14 night games pencilled in. North Melbourne have the most with a whopping 15.

4. Something else about that Shanghai game...

It'll only be broadcast on Fox Footy next year, after Seven had the rights to last year's game on a Sunday arvo.

5. Sydney's tough break

Sydney have the most short breaks next year, with eight breaks of six days or less. The Suns have the least with three.

6. A rarity for the Blues and Dogs

The two clubs play each other twice in 2017. That's the first time both clubs, extraordinarily, have played twice in a season in 16 years.

7. Friday drought

Only three clubs have failed to draw a Friday night game in 2018: Fremantle, Brisbane and Gold Coast. Sydney, Richmond and Adelaide top the other end with five each.

8. Perth Stadium's big opening

Every club has been fixtured in for a game at Perth's new stadium next season, with Essendon, St Kilda, Port Adelaide, Western Bulldogs and Gold Coast - thanks to Metricon's unavailability - playing there twice.

9. Two clubs dominate the 'G

Collingwood and Richmond feature the most at the MCG in 2018, playing there 14 times each, including two clashes against each other. Melbourne is the only other side in double figures, playing 11 games there.

10. The toughest fixture goes to...

GWS and Sydney. Both clubs will play three top six clubs twice next season - the only two clubs to do so.
