The Western Bulldogs are aiming for a slice of history on Friday night when they face West Coast at Domain Stadium.

Incredibly, in 31 years of rivalry, the Dogs have never beaten the Eagles three times in a row.

But having won their last two encounters against West Coast, the Bulldogs have the chance to beat them in three consecutive matches for the first time this week.

In fact, the Doggies have only beaten the Eagles in consecutive matches on three occasions.

It took them 10 years to do it for the first time when they beat West Coast twice in 1997.

The Bulldogs had to wait another nine years to achieve the feat again when they downed the Eagles in Round 19, 2005 and Round 13, 2006.

And there was another decade-long gap between drinks for the Dogs who beat West Coast twice last year – in Round 11 and in that famous elimination final in Perth.
