Gold Coast will be without David Swallow, Matt Rosa and Callum Ah Chee for Sunday’s historic match in Shanghai.
Swallow received a knock to his knee in the club’s win over Geelong, with the club taking a “conservative approach” to his recovery.
“We’re really conscious and careful of David; obviously he has had some injuries that have been long-term with his knee,” GM Football Operations Marcus Ashcroft said.
Consecutive head knocks to Rosa will also see him unavailable for team selection.
Second-year forward Ah Chee will also remain on the Gold Coast as he nurses a back complaint.
In better news for the Suns, Rory Thompson has been cleared to travel with the team as he recovers from a "mild quad complaint".
