Triple M Footy’s Tom Browne believes the race for GWS star Dylan Shiel is now down to two – Hawthorn and Carlton.
Browne tweeted on Tuesday that he reckons Essendon and St Kilda are probably going to miss out on the explosive midfielder.
According to Tom, Hawthorn has become Shiel's preferred destination.
“I think Hawthorn is in the box seat for Dylan Shiel after meetings last week,” Tom told Triple M’s Hot Breakfast earlier on Monday.
“Carlton are still within a hope but Hawthorn I reckon is red hot on Dylan Shiel, so keep a very close eye on that.”
Shiel still has a year to run on his contract with the Giants, but due to their significant salary cap issues they are reportedly open to offloading him.
After being initially linked to the Swans, it’s believed that Shiel will either return to Victoria or stick with Greater Western Sydney.
