Hot Breakfast chief footy reporter Tom Browne says that a first-round draft pick told an interstate club he couldn’t leave Victoria for medical reasons.

LISTEN HERE:

“One of the top players last night… told an interstate club he wasn’t in a position to play interstate,” Browne said.

“The AFL took a pretty dim view of that… the AFL gave a bit of a warning to the managers saying this is a draft, if you want to front up for the draft it’s a national competition, don’t use medical things as an excuse.

“If that’s a valid reason, perhaps don’t enter the draft.”

Tom Browne gave us a full wrap up of the first round of the draft after it was completed last night.
