Triple M's Hot Breakfast footy reporter Tom Browne has suggested the Dees could be forcing a chance for their preliminary final against West Coast.

Reports have circled that the Demons could swing a change for the preliminary final to make way for Joel Smith, a versatile defender, to combat the likes of Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling.

Browne suggested on Thursday the unlucky Demon could be Dom Tyson.

"Finals selection whispers are pretty hit and miss," he tweeted.

"Smith replacing Tyson creating chatter. Possibly for height. But Tyson's tough and has worked hard to overcome his arm surgery."

Smith has played 10 AFL games, including seven this season, last playing against Gold Coast in round 20 where he injured his shoulder.

Ahead of two blockbuster preliminary finals, Damian Barrett and Nathan Brown joined JB and Billy for a huge edition of The Mid-Week Rub!
