Geelong forward Tom Hawkins could be in a bit of strife from the match review panel after a jumper punch.

Hawkins was involved in a scuffle with Adelaide star Matt Crouch.

The two were grappling when Hawkins went with a jumper punch, hitting Crouch in the chin.

It's the latest instalment in the jumper punch saga, with the issue finding plenty of air time in recent weeks.

Sydney's Zak Jones, North Melbourne's Ben Cunnington and Richmond skipper Trent Cotchin have all been let off with fines for jumper punches in recent weeks.

Nathan Brown said on Triple M Hawkins might cop a week with the AFL looking to stamp it out.

"If the AFL are serious on cracking down about it, he probably has to get a week," he said.

Chris Judd agreed.

"I think you get the impression they're very keen to make a statement.," he said.

"I think he's a good chance to miss next week."
