Western Bulldogs midfielder Tom Liberatore has been carried off with what appears to be a bad knee injury in their game against GWS at UNSW Canberra Oval today.

Libba was trying to affect a contest on the wing when he went down clutching at his lower right leg under no physical pressure.

He was in immediate pain and had to be helped off the park by trainers.

Triple M Footy's Jay Clark feared the worst for Libba.

"He (Liberatore) may have just done his knee," Clark said.

"By the looks of the way his knee buckled on the right side as he sort of turned... I wonder if Tom Liberatore has done his knee."

Libba has already had one knee reconstruction, missing the entire 2015 season after rupturing the ACL in his left knee.

More will be known about the extent of the injury soon.

The Dogs trail GWS 4.2 (26) to 3.3 (21) at quarter time.
