The Bulldogs have been strengthened this morning with the re-signing of 2016 premiership player Clay Smith.

Smith has penned a one-year contract extension to remain at the club until the end of 2018.

“Clay’s one of those heart and soul players, crucial to the success of any football club," Jason McCartney told the club website.

“The way he fought back from injury and performed at a high level is a tribute to his character and tireless dedication to our football club.”

Recent draftee Patrick Lipinski extended his contract as well until the end of 2019.

The 18-year old was selected at pick 28 in the 2016 AFL draft.
