Two Collingwood midfielders have penned contract extensions midway through the trade period.

Josh Thomas and Rupert Wills will stay on at the Pies, the club confirmed late on Friday.

Thomas has signed a one-year extension, while Wills has penned a two-year deal.

Both were out of contract at the end of this season.

Thomas made his return to Collingwood’s side after serving a two-year ban alongside now-delisted tall Lachie Keeffe, playing the last nine games of the season and averaging 16 disposals and three inside 50s.

Wills played just one game in 2017, the round 18 win over West Coast, where he notched up 15 disposals and five tackles.

His season was hampered by separate calf and quad injuries.
