Ugly Brawl Between Footy Fans Undergoing Police Investigation

A viral video of a fight between Essendon and Port Adelaide fans from last night’s match at Adelaide Oval is currently being investigated by Police.

“Police are aware of an alleged assault that took place at Adelaide Oval and are speaking to people involved,” a police spokeswoman said.

It is still unknown whether the incident was alcohol-fuelled.

This isn’t the first time this season that the AFL has had with issues involving fan behaviour, with multiple incidents making headlines — most recently the wild brawl at GMHBA Stadium after Geelong’s thrilling win over Melbourne.

AFL chief executive Gill McLachlan ruled out fan segregation after the previous incident. However, following this news it is safe to assume that the AFL will consider multiple solutions in the off season to stamp out this horrible behaviour.
