Jack Anthony has been cleared of bone and spinal cord damage after his bad injury on the Gold Coast yesterday.

The NEAFL game between Anthony’s Southport Sharks and Aspley Hornets had to be called off after the ex-Magpie and Docker was injured in a collision while contesting the ball.

Conditions on the ground were too wet to get the ambulances that turned up on to the pitch, so Anthony had to be stretchered off the ground.

He was then taken to Gold Coast University hospital, and had scans on his back and neck to determine the extent of the injury.

The game was called off at three quarter time with Southport leading 7.13 (55) to 0.8 (8), and the points were awarded to the Sharks.

Everyone at Triple M wishes Anthony the best with his recovery.
