Warren Tredrea Says Rory Sloane 'No Chance' To Play

The Adelaide Crows have been dealt a big blow on the eve of the finals series with star onballer Rory Sloane admitted to hospital to have his appendix removed.

Sloane is the second Crow this season to suffer appendicitis after Eddie Betts was hospitalised earlier this season.

Betts recovered 14 days after surgery to star for the Crows in their Showdown win over the Power, but Port Adelaide champion Warren Tredrea says it would be difficult seeing Sloane do the same just nine days after surgery.

“(He’s) No chance of playing,” Tredea told Jars and Louie on Triple M Adelaide.

“There is no way you’re going to get up nine days after a surgery.

“Because you can take it (the appendix) out, but then you’ve got the recovery.

“Eddie said the biggest pain was the cut - where they go in - and also the tissue just below.

“Deep inside you’re okay, but the surface stuff, especially in that position where you twist and turn…and Sloane is a collision player too.”

The Crows face GWS in a qualifying final at Adelaide Oval next Thursday, with the winner earning themselves a week off, and in Sloane's case, more time for recovery.
