Wayne Carey has slammed Geelong forward Steve Motlop after the Cats’ stinging loss to Sydney in last night’s preliminary final at the MCG.
Duck reckons that it’s time for Motlop to have a good hard look at himself.
“Stevie needs to have a serious conversation had to him by the coach,” Carey said on The Rub.
“The question has to be ‘do you really want to play AFL footy at this level?’”
Duck had serious reservations about Motlop’s commitment.
“Runner up in the best and fairest last year, came back fat, had to train that off, was slow to start, found some consistency then since then has been inconsistent,” Carey said.
“He’s just gotta work out if he really, really, really wants to play at this level.”
