Wayne Carey has said being inducted as the next Hall of Fame Legend would be a "huge thrill".

An article was written in the Herald Sun on Sunday floating the options for the next inductee.

One of which was the King.

"I just wonder, Duck, whether there's a bit more strut today," Jay Clark said on the Sunday Rub.

"Big story in the Herald Sun today, a Robbo column, about you being the next Hall of Fame legend."

Carey was a fan.

"I've always liked Robbo's articles," he laughed.

"I think he's a pretty good judge!"

He admitted it hadn't crossed his mind whether he was close, but said it would be extremely honoured if he was ever considered.

"You don't even think about it," he said.

"I actually think that this man here (Wayne Schwass) should be getting a phone call, he should be in the Hall of Fame.

"Just to be in the Hall of Fame is a huge honour...probably the highest accolade you can get in footy, to be inducted as a Legend.

"So if it was ever to happen, it would be a huge thrill."
