"Get a bit of continuity"

St Kilda’s 2014 number one draft pick Paddy McCartin has been struggling for form this year, and Wayne Carey thinks he’s hit on a solution to help the sticky-handed 20-year-old regain his form.

McCartin has been dropped for the Saints’ clash with Collingwood at the MCG tomorrow, and Duck reckons a move to an unfamiliar part of the ground could be the fillip he needs.

“Could Paddy McCartin play at centre half back?” Duck asked.

“I just think in the back half, to get continuity and game time might be an option that they might be able to use at St Kilda.”

Carey doubled down during his Duck Shoot segment:

“I’d like to see them try to play Paddy McCartin maybe in defence,” he said.

“Get a bit of continuity in his game, get a bit of run, let him read the footy, good above his head.

“But he needs to play, he just needs to play footy week in, week out.”
