Wayne Carey says that staging allegations will be a “stain” on Alex Rance’s career if isn’t careful.
Rance has been under fire for going down easily in a marking contest with Essendon’s Shaun McKernan in last night’s Dream Time game.
Watch it here:
Wayne Carey said that while he doesn’t think the incident is worthy of a sanction, Rance needs to be wary of staging claims besmirching his reputation.
“It’s in a contest so the answer to that (will he be fined) is no,” Duck said.
“But there’s no doubt Rancey will see that vision and will try to cut that out of his game because it’s just not a good look for him… doing those sorts of things puts, I dunno, puts a little stain on what is just a glorious career.
“He’s a great bloke and a great person and all those things, [but] he’s just gotta cut that crap.”
The rest of the Sunday Rub team had a similar view, with Paul Roos saying he’s “never seen that before, not to that degree”.
