Schwatta whacks suspended stars

Wayne Schwass has teed off on Jordan Lewis and Jesse Hogan for their suspensions after Melbourne’s loss to Fremantle at the MCG today.

Melbourne visibly lacked composure in the loss, with Freo at one stage kicking seven goals in a row in the third quarter.

The came a week after the Dees blew a golden chance to beat Geelong with poor goal kicking.

Speaking on Triple M's pre-match coverage of the Carlton v Gold Coast match, Schwass said the missing the two stars has cost the Dees.

“They dominated Geelong but they were inaccurate in front of goal, they lose Maxy Gawn which robbed them of a forward going inside 50 with Jack Watts who I thought did a great job last week as the main ruckman,” Schwatta said.

“But to lose Jordan Lewis and also Jesse Hogan, you can’t afford to do it.”

“They’re two really important players and you’d think that four-time premiership player Jordan Lewis would know better.”

Schwatta said that the Melbourne playing group would — and should — be dirty on Lewis and Hogan.

“Tom McDonald said on radio that they (Lewis and Hogan) fronted the playing group, and they should front the playing group,” he said.

“That’s an experienced premiership and their marquee forward and they lose to Geelong without two of their best players in the lineup.”

Schwass said that the suspended duo will know they’ve stuffed up and be keen to make amends.

“I think any time you get suspended you know you’ve done the wrong thing,” he said.

“The only thing that you can do is work your backside off whilst you’re missing in order to come back and repay the favour.

“But the reality is they’ve dropped two games that they should have won and perhaps would have if those two players had have played.”
