Fremantle youngster Adam Cerra has quashed speculation that he wanted out of the club by re-signing with the Dockers until the end of 2021.

Last year’s No.5 draft pick was already contracted until the end of next season but he will now spend his next three years with Freo.

Rumours had been swirling this year that the 18-year-old was a chance of returning to his native Melbourne in next month’s trade period.

“I’m really excited for the coming years, we are a young group and it was really exciting when we were playing well and I’m sure we will continue to build on that,” Cerra said.

“I’ve made a lot of really close friendships here, there was 10 of us drafted last year and I’m close with all those guys.

“We’re a really tightknit group, so I’m excited about the future playing alongside them.”

Cerra played 21 of a possible 22 games in his debut season this year, averaging 14 touches a game and kicking seven goals.
