Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield has become the first two-time winner of the Triple M Footy Cbus Player of the Week.
Dangerfield, who first won the award in Round 3, claimed the gong for Round 9 too after his superhuman performance against the Western Bulldogs at Simonds Stadium on Friday night.
The reigning Brownlow Medallist played one of the best games of his stellar career – and that’s saying something – as he helped himself to 36 disposals (20 contested), 10 clearances, four goals and laid 12 tackles.
The Doggies got off to a flying start and enjoyed a nine-point lead at quarter-time.
But Dangerfield already had kicked three of Geelong’s five goals by the six-minute mark of the second term and single-handedly kept his side in the contest early.
The 27-year-old went on to be the driving force behind the Cats’ return to form as they snapped a worrying three-game losing streak with an impressive 23-point win over the Bulldogs.
