Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield was awarded the Triple M Footy Cbus Player of the Week on three occasions during the 2017 AFL home-and-away season – more times than any other player.
The reigning Brownlow Medalist claimed the gong in round three, round nine and round 17.
The only other player to win the Triple M Footy Cbus Player of the Week on multiple occasions this year was Dangerfield’s champion captain Joel Selwood who saluted in round five and round 11.
Dangerfield won the award in round three after he produced a virtuoso performance against Melbourne which saw him register 36 disposals (20 contested), nine clearances and three goals.
The 27-year-old won it again six weeks later when he put the Western Bulldogs to the sword with 36 disposals (20 contested), 10 clearances, four goals and 12 tackles.
And Dangerfield made it a hat-trick of Player of the Weeks in round 17 against Hawthorn as he overcame an injured foot to record 20 disposals, eight contested possessions, 12 marks (8 inside 50) and 11 scoring shots (5.6) to courageously lead Geelong to a thrilling three-point win.
All up, Geelong took home six Player of the Weeks this year, double the next best St Kilda which claimed three.
Carlton (two), Gold Coast (two) and Sydney (two) were the only other clubs to win the award on multiple occasions.
