The Triple M Footy CBus Player of the Week for round seven is North Melbourne forward Jarrad Waite.

After missing the previous five matches due to a shoulder injury, the former Blue made a momentous return to the footy field with a dominant performance against the formerly-undefeated Adelaide Crows at Blundstone Arena on Saturday.

Waite set the tone in the first quarter, booting three goals as the Kangaroos piled on an incredible 10.4.64 to nil to not only stun the fine folk of Hobart but the entire footy world.

Many had been talking up the Crows’ chances of going through the season undefeated after winning their first six games by an average of 51 points.

But the Kangaroos, who had only won one game prior to round seven, caused the biggest upset of 2017 as they ran out 59-point winners.

And Waite was the driving force behind the victory, finishing up with 22 disposals (11 contested), eight marks, six tackles and a game-high six goals – the third biggest bag of his 223-game career.

The 34-year-old’s 6.2 was a vast improvement on his last effort of 1.7 against West Coast in round one.
