Richmond superstar Dustin Martin is the 2017 Grand Final Triple M Footy Cbus Player of the Week.

Martin capped off arguably the greatest individual season produced by any player in VFL/AFL history by winning the Norm Smith Medal for his exceptional performance in the premiership decider against Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday.

The 26-year-old became the first ever player to win the Brownlow Medal, Norm Smith Medal and premiership in the same year after he guided the Tigers to their first premiership in 37 years.

Like he has been for most of the season, Martin was unstoppable during Richmond’s 48-point thumping of the Crows as he registered 29 disposals, 22 contested possessions, six clearances and two goals.

The two-time All-Australian further enhanced his standing as not only the best player in the competition but also one of the AFL’s best big-game players in helping Richmond claim their 11th flag.

Given Martin won the first Player of the Week award of the year in round one, it’s quite fitting that he also wins the final one. The season has truly come full circle.
