St Kilda youngster Jack Steele is the Triple M Footy Cbus Player of the Week for Round 20.
Steele has become the third Saint to win the award this year along with Jack Billings (round eight) and Jack Steven (round 16).
In what was a mini elimination final against fellow finals aspirant West Coast, the former Giant stood tall as he recorded 26 disposals, 20 contested possessions, 10 clearances, 12 tackles and two goals.
His spectacular goal from congestion in the final quarter gave the Saints the lead at a crucial time of the game.
It was arguably the best performance of Steele’s 34-game career and more importantly he led his side to a crucial eight-point victory at Etihad Stadium on Sunday to keep the Saints’ finals hopes alive.
Thanks largely to the 21-year-old’s efforts, St Kilda is now only outside the top eight on percentage with three rounds to go.
