GEELONG vs BULLDOGS

Expect a fired up Cats side as Friday night footy returns to the Cattery. Coach Chris Scott was particularly critical of the “disgraceful” tackling performance by the Cats who have lost their past 3-matches. The Bulldogs have dropped four premiership stars - including Libba - as Mitch Wallis, Travis Cloke and captain Robert Murphy return.

Geelong Cats 1.96
Western Bulldogs 1.88

ST KILDA vs SYDNEY

The Swans had a less than ideal start to the season, going winless through the first 6-rounds. Their season seems to be back on track with solid wins over North Melbourne and Brisbane. Rampe, Tippett & Rohan return to the side. The Saints are coming off wins against GWS and Carlton but will need to be at their best to beat this talented Swans outfit.

Crownbet odds:

St Kilda 1.77
Sydney Swans 2.10

GWS vs RICHMOND

The Tigey Train may not be completely shaking but it’s certainly rocking following the “Richmondy” after the siren loss to Freo on Saturday. A win over GWS in Sydney would keep the train steaming ahead. GWS on the other hand aren’t the powerhouse many expected them to be in 2017. They’ll be without Devon Smith who will undergo surgery on his knee.

GWS by 24

Crownbet odds:

GWS GIANTS 1.29
Richmond 3.75

BRISBANE vs ADELAIDE

Brisbane are cemented to the bottom of the ladder - with daylight to 17th position - so welcoming a travelling Crows outfit to the Gabba is not what the doctor ordered. Losing Rockliff is a big blow, despite the return of the captain Beams; while Adelaide will be looking for a big, confidence-boosting win. The Crows have murdered a young Brisbane side on their last two occasions and this trend should continue for a third year.

Crownbet odds:

Brisbane Lions 10.00
Adelaide Crows 1.06

COLLINGWOOD vs HAWTHORN

The Magpies haven’t beaten the Hawks since the Prelim final in 2011 but the streak looks likely to end against an undermanned Hawks. Hawthorn premiership star Cyril Rioli is facing 12 weeks on the sidelines, with Ben Stratton, James Frawley, Grant Birchall and Jaeger O’Meara also watching from the stands.

Crownbet odds:

Collingwood 1.52
Hawthorn 2.60

ESSENDON vs WEST COAST

The Eagles travel to Melbourne this weekend - which hasn’t be happy hunting ground over the past few seasons. Taking on Essendon at Etihad Stadium, however, is a much less daunting task for West Coast who seem to have re-captured their form of late. Essendon’s small forward fleet will look to flourish on the quick deck, but the Eagles star-power should be too much.

West Coast by 17

Crownbet odds:

Essendon 2.55
West Coast Eagles 1.52

MELBOURNE vs NORTH MELBOURNE

In a very intriguing weekend of footy, this game raises more question marks. Despite a lapse last week against Sydney, North Melbourne have been in serviceable form - better than their record suggests. Melbourne will start as unquestionable favourites, so it will be interesting to see how they fair given that position. Todd Goldstein threatens to have a day out.

Melbourne 1.52
North Melbourne 2.55

FREMANTLE vs CARLTON

Fremantle have stolen two victories from the jaws of defeat this season, turning a disastrous start to the season into an impressive record. Their stars are playing good footy again and it should be too much for a plucky Carlton outfit. These young Blues are by no means pushovers anymore, however, and will require a really solid performance to put them away.

Fremantle by 21

Crownbet odds:

Fremantle 1.32
Carlton 3.45
