Adelaide have traded untried midfielder/defender Harrison Wigg to Gold Coast in exchange for pick No.39 at this year’s draft.

Gold Coast will also receive pick 54 and a 2018 fourth-round pick from Adelaide as part of the deal.

Wigg was originally selected by Adelaide with pick No.35 in the 2014 AFL draft.

"Harrison has had to wait for his opportunity playing SANFL since arriving at Adelaide,” Gold Coast list manager Scott Clayton said.

“He plays inside and outside midfield and off half-back, he wins his own ball and is a very effective left-foot kick.

“He also can set the game up by releasing team-mates into space."

Adelaide list manager Justin Reid said the deal was a good result for everyone involved.

“We are happy to strengthen our draft position this year by adding an early third-round pick,” Reid said.

“Harrison is a quality person who is looking for more opportunities at senior level by moving to the Gold Coast.

“We wish him all the best for the future and thank him for his contribution over the past three years.”
