Andrew Swallow's manager Colin Young has confirmed Swallow's wishes to move to Gold Coast.

Swallow raised the idea of joining his brother at the Suns, with North saying they wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted a move.

Young confirmed that North is "okay" with Swallow's desire to seek a trade.

“It popped out of the blue yesterday when Andrew was speaking on a radio station somewhere far away about his thoughts about hopefully playing with David, and those possibilities might be diminishing,” he told AFL Trade Radio,

“They’re okay with what Andrew’s wishes are, and that’s hopefully to seek a trade to the Gold Coast."

Young admitted the possibility would be difficult, with the trade period closing on Thursday afternoon.

“But in saying that, it’s going to be quite hard, because ‘Scotty’ has a lot on his plate right now and we’re coming late towards the end of the trade period," he said.

"Hopefully tomorrow I’ll catch up with Scotty and see if there’s a possibility that can be done during this period.

“We spoke about it during the grand final week to Scott and at that stage it didn’t probably look possible that it could happen."

Part of Swallow's reason to move north is family, with David and his partner Georgie expecting their first child soon.

“Apart from wanting to play with David and go and live on the Gold Coast, that will probably assist David, having his brother around...with David being a young father and both working together at the club," he said.

“We did raise that last year, but unfortunately it couldn’t happen and hopefully this year it may, but we understand it may not.

“I think it’s a win for everyone if it can get done."
