Dayne Beams is a Collingwood player again.

The long-mooted trade finally got done in the last half hour of the trade period, with pick 18, the Pies’ 2019 first round pick and pick 56 going Brisbane’s way in exchange for the ex-Lions skipper.

Collingwood are also getting picks 41 and 44.

Beams’s future had been up in the air since May, when Tom Browne reported that Beams was interested in a return to Victoria.

LISTEN TO TOM BROWNE’S INITIAL REPORT HERE:

Beams was a Collingwood player between 2009 and 2014, playing 110 games including a flag win in 2010.

He was traded to Brisbane for family reasons in 2014 to be with his brother and ill father.

Beams played 58 games for the Lions between 2015-18, captaining the club in 2017 and for half of this year.
