Hawthorn has re-signed dual premiership winner Taylor Duryea.

The 26-year-old remain a Hawk in 2018 after signing a one-year extension to his deal.

Duryea took on a slightly different role in 2017, playing predominantly as a defensive forward.

He managed 15 games this season, booting six goals.

Duryea has played 101 games for the Hawks since coming to the club at pick 69 in the 2009 draft.

Hawthorn list manager Graham Wright cited Duryea’s ability to play several roles as a key for his re-signing.

“Taylor’s versatility has been a real strength for the team this year, having the option of playing him at both ends of the ground,” Wright said on the club website

“He has matched up against some of the opposition’s best players in 2017 and really embraced the opportunity to play multiple roles.”
