West Coast premiership player Liam Ryan has entered a guilty plea to driving with a blood alcohol reading exceeding .08.

Ryan fronted Armadale Magistrates Court today and pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Eagles released a statement on the issue:

Premiership forward Liam Ryan today entered a guilty plea in the Armadale Magistrates Court to a charge of driving with a blood alcohol reading exceeding 0.08.

Liam takes full responsibility for his actions and both he and the club accept that the penalty is fair and reasonable.

This penalty was the result of an incident in July and the club imposed internal sanctions on Liam at the time.

The club will continue to educate Liam around this matter, always placing his health and wellbeing as the major priority.

The club has no further comment to make.

Tom Browne says that Melbourne are more keen for Jesse Hogan to go than Freo are to pick him up.
