Port Adelaide ruckman Matthew Lobbe will "explore his options" and see if there is a club interested in picking him up, according to list manager Chris Davies.

Lobbe has two years left on his current contract, but is stuck behind All-Australian ruckman and best and fairest winner Paddy Ryder.

Davies said the club is comfortable with Lobbe looking at his options outside Port Adelaide.

"He’s expressed a want to look at what his options are," he told AFL Trade Radio.

"In fairness, whilst he’s probably our second ruckman behind Paddy Ryder, you’ve got the All-Australian ruckman keeping you out of the team, we understand Lobes’s want to have a look at a club where he thinks he might get some more game time."

The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order after being Port Adelaide's number one ruck in 2014, failing to play a single game in 2017.

Davies said the club would be happy to facilitate a trade elsewhere, despite the fact he has two years left on his deal, as long as Lobbe's camp can find a suitor.

“We would be obviously comfortable with that...despite the fact he’s got two years left on his contract, we’re happy for him to explore those options," he said.

"I don’t think that’s come to an end at this point. He’s probably still talking to a number of clubs, and if there’s sufficient interest then I’m sure that something will probably get done there.

"In the short term it’s about Matthew ascertaining if there’s a club that’s actually interested in him going to them."
