Melbourne has knocked Fremantle’s first bid for Jesse Hogan, according to Jay Clark and Mick Warner in the Herald Sun.

Freo offered pick 11 and a future second round pick for the big forward, which Melbourne declined.

The Dees apparently want any trade to include pick 5 which Brisbane are willing to give the Dockers for their own wantaway player Lachie Neale.

Melbourne are happy to keep Hogan for another year if needed, with West Coast — who are focusing on Tim Kelly this year — apparently willing to trade for the 23-year-old key forward next season as a Josh Kennedy replacement.

Hogan has played 71 games for the Dees since 2015, booting 152 goals.

Tom Browne says that Dayne Beams and Nathan Buckley have repaired the rift in their relationship.
