North Melbourne have finally finished the long-mooted trade for Port Adelaide’s Jared Polec.

The Roos have also landed Jasper Pittard and pick 48 in the trade, while pick 11 and a 2019 fourth round pick have gone to Port.

Polec’s move to North has been on the cards for a long time, with the Roos’ interest in him slated midway through the season.

He managed 90 games for Port between 2014-18 after 16 for Brisbane between 2011 and 2013.

Polec was taken by the Lions at pick 5 in the 2010 draft.

Pittard played 126 games for Port between 2011 and 2018 and was taken at pick 16 in the 2009 draft.

Tom Browne says that Hawthorn will target Chad Wingard after missing out on Dylan Shiel.
