Gold Coast defenders Steven May and Kade Kolodjashnij have been traded to Melbourne.

The Suns have received pick six in return.

Ex-skipper May’s future has been the source of much discussion all season, with speculation rife he would despite having a year left on his contract.

May played 123 games for the Suns since coming there as a priority zone selection in 2011, and co-captained the team with Tom Lynch (who has left for Richmond) since 2017.

Kolodjashnij has played 78 games since being drafted with pick five in the 2013 draft, but was limited to eight and 11 games in 2018 and 2017 respectively due to injury and concussion.
