Triple M Footy's Tania Armstrong believes GWS "are open" to a deal that will see them trade ruckman Rory Lobb to Western Australia.

TANIA ARMSTRONG'S NEWS:

The Giants are reportedly battling salary cap issues, with names such as Lobb, Dylan Shiel, Tom Scully and Jeremy Finlayson floated among trade rumours.

Armstrong said pre-game on the coverage of West Coast/Melbourne that the Giants would be open to a swap that would see them net a compensation pick for Lobb to ease their cap strain.

"One deal I do think will get done," she said.

"I believe the GWS Giants are open to taking that pick in exchange for Rory Lobb.

"He's on $800,000 a year because his price got pushed up two years when the Eagles and Dockers both wanted him."

Armstrong said a compensation pick for West Coast for losing free agent Scott Lycett could then head to GWS in exchange for Lobb.

"He's got a year to go on his contract, but the Giants looking to offload someone, it could be Rory Lobb and they could take that pick in the 20s in exchange for him," she said.
