Hot Breakfast footy reporter Tom Browne says that Hawthorn is “having a good look” at GWS midfielder Tom Scully in this trade period, but that an ankle injury could prove a complication in any trade getting done.

Browne feels that the Hawks are well placed to get the trade right, however.

“Scully’s got significant issues with his ankle which Hawthorn will have to suss out,” Browne said.

“But given their good medical facilities they might be prepared to take the punt and see this as a win/win.

“I don’t think the Giants are going to get a high draft pick necessarily for Scully given his injury concerns.”

Scully broke his ankle against Collingwood in round two and missed the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old has played 121 games for the Giants since coming across from Melbourne in 2011 after 31 games for the Dees.
