Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch is officially a Tiger after the Suns opted against matching Richmond’s free agency bid for him.

Lynch has reportedly joined Richmond on a seven-year deal worth more than $6 million.

Richmond football manager Neil Balme said the Tigers were pleased to welcome Lynch to the club.

“Tom is clearly a talented footballer, but he also has great leadership qualities and a strong work ethic,” Balme said.

“At only 25 years of age, he is an exciting prospect and has many years of good football ahead of him.

“I, like many of our fans, look forward to seeing Tom in yellow and black.”

Lynch nominated Richmond as his club of choice last week after eight seasons with the Suns.

The 25-year-old played 131 games and kicked 254 goals for Gold Coast.

He made the All-Australian team in 2016 and is a two-time best-and-fairest winner.
