Cleveland Cavaliers superstar Kyrie Irving genuinely believes the Earth is flat.

Kyrie recently appeared on a podcast with his teammates Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson — called Road Trippin’ with RJ & Channing — and laid down his beliefs as part of a chat about aliens (seriously).

Frye started the conversation by asking if the others believed aliens exist, and Kyrie upped the ante by asking if they believed the Earth was round.

He was unequivocal in answering his own question.

"This is not even a conspiracy theory," he said. 

"The Earth is flat."

When the other two understandably asked him to elaborate, Kyrie went further.

"It’s right in front of our faces. I’m telling you, it’s right in front of our faces. They lie to us," he said.

"What I’ve been taught is that the earth is round. But if you really think about it from a landscape of the way we travel, the way we move and the fact that, can you really think of us rotating around the sun and all planets aligned, rotating in specific dates, being perpendicular with what’s going on with these planets?"

He was given a chance to walk back his comments at the NBA All Star game today and refused to do so:

It seems an odd viewpoint from a guy who was born in Melbourne and regularly flies across America to play sport — meaning he’s extremely across timezones — but hey, who are we to judge?
