Ben Simmons inspired the Philadelphia 76ers to a 3-1 lead over the Miami Heat with a milestone triple double in their 106-102 win.

Simmons became only the fifth rookie in NBA history to record a playoff triple double as a rookie, following Magic Johnson, who was the last player to do so in 1980.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry Lucas and Tom Gola are the only other three to achieve such a feat.

Simmons finished with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, plus four steals, while JJ Redick finished with 24 points for the 76ers, the most of any player.

Joel Embiid, on return from a fractured orbital bone, finished with 14 points.

It leaves the 76ers just one win away from their first playoff series win since 2012.
