Friday has been a pretty huge day for Australian basketball sensation Ben Simmons.
Not only did he hit the highest score of his fledgling NBA career as he guided the Philadelphia 76ers to a thrilling 116-115 win over the Chicago Bulls, but he’s also had a mural painted in his honour in his hometown of Melbourne!
The former No.1 draft pick finished up with 32 points, including a pair of match-winning free throws at the death, on 72 percent shooting from the field, along with 11 assists and seven rebounds.
Simmons was ably assisted by All-Star teammate Joel Embiid who racked up 30 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and three steals.
Just look at how in sync these two young superstars are.
Bobby Portis stood out for the Bulls with a game-high 38 points and eight rebounds but it wasn’t enough as they slumped to their 37th loss of the season.
Although the 76ers were made to sweat in the dying moments of the match!
The 76ers (31-25) are now seventh in the Eastern Conference while the Bulls (20-38) are 12th and 10 games behind the playoffs spots.
