Aussie Set To Become Free Agent

Frantic is one word for the days leading up to the NBA trade deadline.

But in the end Thursday's cut-off came and went without any of the big names changing teams.

It turns out the biggest stars had already been traded with former King DeMarcus Cousins joining the Pelicans and ex-Laker Lou Williams now a Rocket.

The Celtics - thought to be the biggest players in the trade market - held on to their assets, namely a swag of lucrative draft picks.

That left the biggest names on the 2017 market - Jimmy Butler and Paul George - in Chicago and Indiana respectively.

But in some news that'll interest Australian fans, Andrew Bogut is on the move again.

Dallas sent him to Philadelphia for Nerlens Noel, where the centre could be playing alongside fellow Aussie (and fellow number 1 draft pick) Ben Simmons.

But that looks unlikely to happen, with Bogut's agent and the Sixers reportedly in talks to secure a buyout.

Bogut's already being linked to the championship winning Cavaliers as a free agent.

Elsewhere there weren't many other major moves.

The Thunder picked up Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott.

P.J. Tucker landed at the Raptors after Serge Ibaka was traded there from the Magic last week.
