That sound you're hearing is Golden State fans breathing a collective sigh of relief.

The scans are in on Kevin Durant's knee injury.

Turns out he hasn't broken anything at all and suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain when he went down in the loss to the Wizards on Tuesday.

It means the Warriors dodge a bullet.

They'll get their superstar back well before a much anticipated (should it happen) re-match with Le Bron James and the Cavaliers in the Finals.

Seeing as Golden State won 73 games without Durant last season, they shouldn't be too worried.

KD's path back to the court is set to be long(ish), but not as long as they were fearing.

With or without him, the Warriors should be able to hang on to the Western Conference's Number 1 seed.

But they're not taking any chances, signing forward Matt Barnes to a contact for the rest of the season.
