How Much?

Kevin Durant is a man of his word.

The Golden State superstar said he was going to take less money to keep the Warriors' Championship core together, and he was right.

KD has agreed to a two-year, $70 million deal to stay in the Bay, with the second year being a player option.

It follows frantic first few days of free agency in which the Warriors did deals with Stephen Curry, Shaun Livingston, David West and Andre Iguodala.

There were fears Iguodala would bolt for more money elsewhere as he enters the twilight of his career, but the Golden State caved and lifted their offer to 3 years for a shade over $62 million.

All this leaves in the team deep into luxury tax territory but a team backed by tech billionaires won't be too worried when they're utterly dominating the NBA.

So how much is Durant leaving on the table?

About $13 million a season according if insiders are on the money (literally, in this case).

While $35 million is still a lot of money to be making, that $13 million sacrifice could be the difference in the Warriors' chances of defending their crown.

And right now, who would bet against them doing that?
