The New York Knicks might be far from contenders on the court... but it's not hurting their market value off it.
They're still the NBA's most expensive team according to Forbes Magazine after topping the list last year.
The struggling Knicks are worth a shade under $4.3 billion - up 10 per cent on last year - and it's all thanks to some renovations on their home venue Madison Square Garden.
The upgrade's brought in new cash from sponsorships and better seating.
Last season saw the Knicks post a $141 million profit despite winning just 32 of their 82 games.
A new broadcast deal also banked them $100 million in year one.
So how do the other leading teams stack up?
The L.A. Lakers are valued at $3 billion, the Golden State Warriors $2.6 billion, the Chicago Bulls $2.5 billion while a cashed up buyer will need to write a $2.2 billion cheque to buy the Boston Celtics.
Surprising for some is the value of champions Cleveland with the Cavaliers ranked 11th at the bargain price of $1.2 billion (up 9%).
